Our Yorkie Family
At Santana’s Yorkies, every puppy begins with exceptional parents. Our Yorkies are carefully selected for their health, temperament, structure, and genetics. They are not only beautiful dogs but also loving companions with wonderful personalities.
Our parent dogs live happy, enriched lives and are raised with the same love and care that we expect their puppies to bring into their future homes. Each parent carries a unique set of genetics that can produce different color variations of Yorkshire Terriers.
Below are the primary Yorkie varieties within our program.
Traditional Yorkshire Terriers
Traditional Yorkies are the classic and most recognized variation of the breed. They are known for their elegant appearance and beautiful silky coats. Traditional Yorkies typically display the iconic steel blue and tan coloring. As puppies, they are usually born darker (often black and tan) and gradually develop their blue and gold coloring as they mature.
These Yorkies are admired for their:
-
Luxurious, silky coats
-
Compact and balanced structure
-
Bright, confident personalities
-
Loyal and affectionate temperament

Parti Yorkies
Parti Yorkies are a rare and striking variation of the Yorkshire Terrier. Instead of the traditional blue and tan coloring, Parti Yorkies display a beautiful combination of white with black, blue, or tan patches.
This variation occurs when both parents carry the recessive parti gene. When the genetics align, the result is these unique tri-colored puppies.
Parti Yorkies are known for:
-
Distinctive white and color patch patterns
-
Playful and lively personalities
-
Soft, beautiful coats
-
Unique, eye-catching appearance
Although their coloring differs, Parti Yorkies are still purebred Yorkshire Terriers with the same loving personality and charm. *The photo to the left is not one of my dogs and is shown here to emulate the characteristics of a parti yorkie*
Chocolate Parti Yorkies
Chocolate Parti Yorkies are one of the most unique and sought-after variations within the breed. Their coats feature rich chocolate brown tones combined with white markings, sometimes accompanied by tan accents.
This color variation comes from specific recessive genes carried by both parents. When expressed, it produces puppies with stunning, warm-toned coats and striking contrast patterns.
Chocolate Parti Yorkies are loved for their:
-
Rare chocolate coloring
-
Beautiful white and brown patterns
-
Gentle and affectionate temperament
-
Distinctive, one-of-a-kind appearance
Their unique coloring makes them especially memorable while still maintaining the wonderful personality Yorkies are known for.

Biro Yorkies
Biro Yorkies are one of the rarest and most distinctive variations of the Yorkshire Terrier. They are known for their beautiful chocolate and white coats paired with unique golden or tan markings, creating a striking tri-color appearance.
This variation comes from a very specific genetic combination. The Biro Yorkie originated in Germany and results when Yorkshire Terriers carry both the parti gene and the chocolate gene, producing their signature coloring.
Biro Yorkies are admired for their:
-
Unique chocolate, white, and gold coat patterns
-
Soft, silky fur
-
Sweet and affectionate personalities
-
Rare and eye-catching appearance
Like all Yorkshire Terriers, Biro Yorkies are playful, intelligent, and incredibly loyal companions. Their distinctive coloring simply makes them even more special while maintaining the loving temperament the breed is known for.
